Have A Nice Day

Roxanne Shante is one of the great old school MCs. This song has maybe the best diss verse ever written... "Now KRS-ONE you should go on vacation. With that name soundin' like a wack radio station." LOL. But, what is really rad is that she now has a PhD in psychology that she managed to get paid for by her old record label. Pretty interesting article about that right here...

Crankworx CO

Couple of bangin' shots that Jake snapped out at Crankworx Colorado. Kiwis love Snickers. Bet you didn't know that.

Anthem!

One of the classic mid-school bmx videos is now online! Tons of rad trail footage.

Edit: And it's gone. I hope you caught it. It is impossible to find a copy of this anywhere, but apparently it is going to be re-released with the upcoming Anthem 2, which we hope will be just as epic.

Let The Funk Flow

I was jammin' to the J.B.'s today and was reminded of this song. It's crazy how much James Brown was sampled back in the day... but, I don't blame them. Nobody grooves like JB!

JPOV

Snatched these from Jake's blog. He has beeng getting some amazing shots lately. Now if he'd only come out to the trails and ride bikes again... that'd be cool.

That's Morgan Wade up top doing something crazy and Tyler Finnigan at a local bar.

Skeletons

Couple shots of Eliot and I out at skeleton a few months ago. I haven't been out there in forever... the new trails are super fun but I'm kind of missing that place. We really need some rain to get it patched up again. But knowing So Cal, that won't happen until February.

Eliot went down hard in Whistler a few weeks back and separated his shoulder. So, he's been off the bike for awhile now. It sucks for him because he had been training hard for downhill racing. This sets him back a bit, but he tells me he's still going to focus on it when he's healed.

It seems like everybody is getting injured lately... Eliot got hurt, Timmy got hurt, Carter got hurt. Bummer. Just part of the game I guess.

Superstition

This is about as funky as it gets. There's an interesting break down of the original multitrack of this song right here. 8 tracks on the clavinet! But, to me, it's the first horn and bass riff that really kicks this song into an orgasm of funk. Stevie rules.

OK Riders, Let's Set Em Up...

Tater, Hot Dog, and I went out to the Sycamore bmx track in Simi the other day. That place is fun. They just rebuilt the track about a month ago and it's proper. There is a triple step-up, step-down going into the first berm. Then some decent size dubs on the 2nd straight. Then a crazy rhythm section on the 3rd that's pretty tech when you're flying through it. I wish they would have had tracks like this when I was racing.

I was stoked to see Mike Day out there. He's stupid fast. But, I was most impressed by his manual through the whole rhythm section... rad!

I found these pictures on the Sycamore bmx website. There are none from that day, but I saw this one of our buddy Ryan rockin' the 2sixes. There are also some photos of Mike Day labeled as "silver." I wonder if that's what they call him? That'd be funny.

Posse On Broadway

This was one of my favorite jams BITD, but I don't think I had seen the video until just now. Classic.
