Going Up

The jumps have some pop nowadays, but nobody can boost them like A-Jack. Should we name this jump the patriot? It definitely launches you like a missile.

Look... no Mike face

Kind of a cool shot of WCH.

More Griz

I posted one similar to this awhile back, but this is a different shot from the same day. The griz is just a fun trick to do. I've been doing them on my 20 lately... which feels quite a bit different when you don't have as much bike to push against.

National City

There's just something cool about popping up over the hill to see this field of jumps. The drought of the summer has it struggling to hold form, but it's still tons of fun. The roll in is sweet... any roll in is better than no roll in.

WestCoastHucker

You may remember that I tried to fly away on this jump awhile back. Well, Mikey decided to show me how it's done. I think he would have done even better if he would have been listening to this song while riding that day.

Steez Of The Week

Thanks to Jackson over at Sasquatch Canyon for posting this one up the other day. Vic Murphy has pretty much the sickest tables ever.

Eliot The Trail Slayer

I hear that Eliot is like a Jedi Master at Counter-Strike. He also used to be a really, really good moto racer. I can't think of any other random facts about him except that even though he never does a trick, I would rather watch him ride trails over almost anyone else I know (no offense, guys).

Lightning

I was pretty stoked on the Olympic 100 meter final. Usain Bolt is a 6'5" freak of nature and my new hero. He destroyed the field and the world record... even though he basically jogged the last 3rd of the race. Plus, his shoe was untied and he said his pre-run meal was chicken McNuggets. Haha. Reminds me of me back in my track days, except I was way faster.

Edit: And Bob Costas and the other talking heads can shut the hell up about him "show boating" and being "disrespectful" to the Olympic games. Please. He should have turned around and ran the last 20 meters backwards while pointing and laughing at the slow pokes behind him. That would have been rad.

Isaac Wood

We took a little trip down to San Diego last weekend. Isaac was ripping like usual.

The Faint

Old Faithful

I saw this on my way home from work the other day. I don't know why the firedudes are just standing there... seems like they should be doing something other than just checking out the show, but I'm sure they had it figured out.

Steez Of The Week

Whipped seat grab at the PO on deuce quads in purple plaid... now that's steezy.

Funky Skunk

Howdy. We have been seeing a skunk at the trails lately. And all this time, I just thought it was WCH. That brings the total list of creatures spotted at the trails to this: skunk, tarantula, lizards, snakes, whooping crane, crawdads, fish, pigs, and whatever it is that burrows in the jumps (I haven't seen it). Not to mention the deer skeletons for which the trails are named after. Who woulda thunk that you could see so much wildlife so close to LA? In honor of Mr. Skunk, I'm naming my new ride Pepé Le Pew. That's it with a Comp III up front and Longnecks to keep it trill. Oh, and we're also working on a new hip that should be super fun.

Steez Of The Week

Holy hot sauce. Gary Young getting super fresh at the x-games.

Speaking of the x-games... yeah, I watched it. The street contest was actually kind of cool. I love the jam format. Those guys are nutty and have way too much tech skill. Even though I kind of despise the big air event (silly circus event that killed dirt), it was kind of entertaining. Mirra got robbed. His sig no handed 360 flip over the 50 footer was by far one of the coolest things I have ever seen done on a bicycle. So was Morgan holding a superman (no, I will NOT call it a Soulja Boy) seat grab for like 5 minutes, all while smiling at the camera. And A-Nap is my hero for trying a triple whip flip. I don't know what to think of Super Park. It was cool to see guys like Hawk, Foster, and Young flow it. But, it just didn't seem nearly as exciting as a normal park event.

Oh, and they should let some mtb slopestyle guys into the big air event. I know there are few guys that could hold their own... like an Andreu super flip over the 70 footer. They would probably die on the quarter, though. Haha.

Heathcliff

Sorry that it has been slow around here lately. I've been crazy busy with work and other things... but, mostly I've just been slacking. I also wanted to give you an extra long time to stare at that picture of Mikey. We've been almost exclusively riding at our trails over the past few weeks. Although, we did make a trip out to The Compound a couple weeks back. That place is core. Thomas was out there shredding on his bmx... that dude has some of the sickest style I have ever seen. Unfortunately, the photogs have been busy, as well, so I can't really show you any evidence of the insanely rad un-lookback 3s that Thomas was pulling. I did find this pic of Heath Pinter shredding the MOSH ramps. That's a proper 3 turndown right there.

Oh, I built up a new bmx, too. It's a S&M Stricker that I picked up courtesy of Mr. Tiles over on RM. I'm loving it... it feels sooooo good on the trails. I also have plans to get my 2six back together... S&M is helping me out with that, too. I'll share the details at some point.
