Big Flipper

Dat's a big flip. Jake has a bunch of pics from last year's Crankworx up on his site. For some reason, I don't think I had ever checked them out until now. You can see the rest of them right here.

Steez Of The Week

Sorry for the slowness around here lately. I've been back in Kansas with the family. I'll be going back to Cali later tonight.

Footjams = boring and played out.

Can can foot plants = uber rad.

Kneezy Steezy

This is what we refer to as "kneezy steezy."

Knees together = under control, balanced, and stylish.

Griz

This is one of like 3 tricks I did at the thrashbike jam. I don't do many tricks... I just like jumpin'. BTW, this jump is one of the funnest jumps in the world.

Steez Of The Week - Part Deux

More Mikey. This time I did the graphic work (well, Mikey designed the sweet jump). What's up now, Tater?

Steez Of The Week

Mikey's "oh face" toboggan and Tater's radical like rick graphic work get steelo de la semana. Yeah, that's a cruiser he's on. Pure OG dopeness.

Hooked Up

Because of moves like this, A-Jack is now getting some fine goods from Lotek. Hey, we're about the same size... order two of everything.

Pictures

Can you tell I'm struggling to think of creative post titles? Haha. Here are a couple shots that Zach got when he was down south the other day. The first is Mikey dumping a sweet t-bag. The 2nd one is a rare pic of photog Jake in action... he is a man of many talents.

New Bike Hauler

I'm sure you guys don't really care, but I picked up a new car yesterday. Unfortunately, if you live in so cal and do anything, it pretty much requires TONS of driving. So, I decided it was worth it to get something new to make the hours each day spent in my car a little more enjoyable. Plus, now I'll be able to fit a bike or two in the back without having a rack. Mileage is better, too. I'm pretty stoked on it.

Palms

Zach took a break from building trail radness up in norcal to come down south and ride some spots. We had a cool sesh at the palms. There were some pictures taken that I haven't seen, yet, but here are a few from there that I don't think I've posted. I hadn't been there in awhile, and every time I go back, I'm reminded of how much fun that place is. The jump above is tricky. The gap of the double is probably only about 10 feet, but you come flying over a setup jump at mach 10 into a lip that goes almost to vert. Once you get the hang of it, it sends you into orbit.

Yeah, son.

Mikey and some buds built this sweet line awhile back. He just remembered that he had this clip from at least a year ago. If I remember right, this was the first time that I hit the jump at the bottom. Now there is an even bigger double right after it. The place is tons of fun, but the lack of water keeps us from spending much time up there. I think Mikey calls me "son" because he's old enough to be my dad. Haha.

I promise something better, video wise, in the near future.

Eric B & Rakim

A lot of people consider Rakim the greatest MC of all time. I am one of them.

Doyle Rules

Chris Doyle must have seen last week's Steez Of The Week and decided to do a tribute to it during Elevation practice. The photo is from Ride BMX where they call it both a motowhip seatgrab and a kickout seatgrab in the same caption. So, apparently, I'm not the only one who is not sure what to call it. They also say, "It's not what you do, but how you do it." Truer words have never been spoken (or, uh, written).

Down With The Compound

We spent most of the day Saturday out at The Compound. That place is a definitely one of the raddest bike parks on the planet. It was the first time we had been out there since they put up the new dirt jumps for this year. They're fun, but I'd say not quite as fun as last year's jumps (there is one less jump - 8 pack now, instead of 10 pack). Isaac Wood, Chris Sorichetti (who you may remember from the SD jam) and his brother , Thomas Hancock, and a few others were out there shredding 2sixes. Isaac sent me pics that were snapped with his camera. That's him with the superman seat grab, Chris with the no can, and Thomas mid 3 next to the inked old school ripper. One of the best parts about The Compound are the non-stop trains through the trails. Check out the kid doing the robot. Sweet.

Brett Auerbach

Brett is on flow with Giant/MOSH nowadays. And he still has some of the sweetest inverts ever. If you watched that vid on vital, you also know he has dumped 3s and opposite 3s. Damn, kid, give me some of that talent.

Swan Dive

It's been awhile since I posted any shots from our trails. The place is really fun right now and covered in cool weeds. Is there a better feeling than diving in on some steep trails?

Steez Of The Week

Nobody seems to know the name of this trick, other than just "seat grab." But, it's definitely not your normal seat grab. It's a super whipped out, steezalicious seat grab. Some have suggested "groundchuck" (he owned this trick), "horsewhip," and "side-saddle." Whatever you call it, it's definitely a smooth trails move guaranteed to make the scene chicks come running.

Now That's A Berm

Carter posted a shot on the Black Market site of one sickest berms I've ever seen. It's almost more like a wall ride than a berm. So so fresh.

Fly Away

One time, while I was in the air, I decided that I was tired of coming back to the earth. So, I let go of my bike and tried to fly away. I didn't really work.

Quality

I'm not sure exactly what it is, but there is something about this picture that I really like. Maybe it is just that it's so clear and everything about it seems so peaceful.

Edit: Jake is telling me that A-Jack is mid alley-oop 270 on this one and that it should be SOTW. Haha.

Ecuador

This dude, Juan Alfonso Reece, or "Popin" cuz it's cool, sent me some very sweet shots of him riding in Ecuador. It's so rad to see the love of what we do all over the globe. Brush up on your Spanish and check out Popin's website, http://www.afuera.com.ec/. Me gusta andar en bicicleta!
