I'll give Mikey the benefit of the doubt on this one and say he was trying a nothing... or, maybe Jake just had bad timing. But, regardless, Mikey was out at the trails last week showing off his new bike and his new kicks. That's a Shadow Invisible Man cruiser.
It's a good thing he got some riding time in last week, because the rain this past weekend blasted our trails. There's a creek next to the trails that turned into a raging river. The river almost completely washed away a few of the lips, landings, and berms. There was deep standing water (with fish) in the bottom of every bowl. It's definitely going to take a few weeks of hard work to get them rideable again. We thought about the potential problem when we were building so close to the creek. But, 99% of the time it is so dry around here that any rain is appreciated. We thought, at worst, a few jumps might get flooded and just need time to dry out. We definitely didn't expect whole lines to be washed away. But, you live, you learn. Now we get to rebuild a few jumps to be even bigger and better!
