New Website!

Check it out here: www.liquid-bikes.com

So we've got the new website up and running. Big thanks to Eric, also known by his superhero alias of Potato Grande, for the quality work!

Liquid Dirt will move and become the blog on that website. I'll keep this post up as a reminder and eventually www.liquid-dirt.com will redirect directly to www.liquid-bikes.com.

Thanks again to those of you who have been following Liquid Dirt over the years! And thanks for the good words and support of Liquid Bikes as we move forward.

Check The Greenery

Now that's a mature set of trails. Haha. And they still flow like water.

Day At The Track

We went out to Sycamore BMX for a practice day last week. We always have so much fun when we go to the track... apparently I forget how much I miss it. See the dude in the white tee with the black Fox helmet? That's none other than the legend himself... Bart Taylor, or, uh, I mean Travis Chipres doing it for Team Robinson racing. Did you know he was Bart Taylor's stunt double? I didn't know that until a few years back, but I did know that he was one of my favorite racers when I was growing up... and he's still got it!

Liquid Dirt

We finally had a dry weekend, so I spent most of it trying to get Koala dialed again. We got the whole line running pretty good and started a new transfer that should be crazy fun.

Steez Of The Week

Jake caught this rad shot of Kurt Sorge out at Giant Team Camp. I knew he had some big tricks... but I didn't know he had the steez.

Funky Fridays

Put a glide in your stride and a dip in your hip and come onto the mothership...

Liquid International

We are very excited too have sold a few frames internationally. This is the first one that I have seen built up overseas and it belongs to Pawel in the UK. The build is NICE. Liquids all over the world... yeah, yeah!

That's just super...

I came across this shot while browsing through some old photos. Jake snapped it out at one of the dude tours awhile back and I don't think I ever posted it.

Bubblegum Blue

I built up a blue one awhile back and Jake snapped a quality shot of it while we were doing the product pics. I'm super stoked on how this color turned out.

Turn Tha Party Out

For some reason the person who uploaded this has it named "La Da Da" on YouTube. LOL at one of the comments - "it's turn teh party out.....but you got teh best upload audio quality so we be letting it slide kid. :)"

Don't call it a fixie

This is my ss Giant Bowery. I run it freewheel, not fixie, because I don't really see the point of running it fixed. I've been riding it quite a bit lately... for exercise and just getting around. It's amazing how effortlessly fast it goes. Bikes are rad.

Funky Fridays

Funky Fridays... we'll see how long I can keep this up. There will probably be A LOT of James Brown. His nickname really should have been "The Godfather Of Funk." His bands had some amazing grooves. How can you not love this stuff? You might recognize this one as the sample used in this classic Eric B. & Rakim track.

And here is a shot of me that Tater took out at Skeleton awhile back. I'm still not even sure what jump it was on. Maybe the little hip?

What is trails?

With all of the rain and limited daylight hours to get stuff done, the digging has been going slow lately. But, it's going. And hopefully it was enough rain to keep the dirt nice for awhile.

So, what is trails? This is trails. This is trails. This is trails. This isn't trails (although, it's about trails and it's hilarious). The apology really isn't trails, either. I obviously don't know much about the situation and trail nazis ARE the worst, but it's pretty ridiculous to call out a group of trail builders on the internet. If that's the way they do it, whatever. Go build your own stuff or figure out how to be cool with them if you really want to ride there.

I'm glad our local scene is chill and relatively drama free... that is trails.

Edit: My bad. Had the wrong link on the Dugan hitler vid. That first link I had up was... something. Haha.

Super

Did I ever post this shot that Jake snapped out at Crankworx? I have no idea who it is, but it's fresh.

3 Tuck

Jake went out to Ray's to put in some work for the "Odd Couple" contest. Pretty cool event if you ask me. Not only does it show what the big wheel guys are capable of (even if some of them are out of their element a little bit), but it's also a great example of the open mindedness of most riders. There are shit talkers everywhere... but I think most people are chill and down with anybody that's having fun on two wheels.

Liquid Dirt... literally

So skeleton survived (mostly) the torrential rain that lasted almost all of last week. Most of the pits have drainage... except this swimming pool near the end.

I'm confused by the footprints in the mud. Why are the little animal tracks only in the middle? Did the giant bird get the little guy? And what the hell kind of bird made those tracks!

Steez Of The Week

Larry Edgar is my new favorite rider. I remember riding with him out at the compound when he was about 13 and eveybody knew him as "Little Larry." He killed it on everything with effortless style. He still does... but apparently he's added some huge tricks to his game. He was also always one of the nicest kids out there. Back then, we would show up on 26s and he was one of the few who thought it was rad. He would even ride my bike... better than me his first time through the line (but I did x-up his tiny ass bike, haha). So, anyway, Little Larry rules. And he'll probably be winning Dew Tours with style before you know it.

X-Down

X-Down... that's what I'm calling it. We made a little trails tour to Sheep and this spot last weekend. Both spots were in really good shape after the recent rain (although probably completely flooded just like everywhere else after the crazy storms this whole week). A janky 8 foot tall roll in gets you into this line... that is trails. This picture was actually taken a few months back. The place is looking and flowing a lot better now.

Intergalactic Wild Thing

So, I've either been playing too much DJ Hero or listening to too much Girl Talk lately, or both, and was inspired to put this little mashup together using The Beastie Boys, The Troggs, and Tone Loc. Music is what I do on rainy days... and it's been raining a lot lately.

CB and crew should change the name of these trails to "The Hills."

Day At The Whoops

I met up with some old friends and some new friends out at the whoops yesterday. I hadn't been there in awhile, but we had a blast. That place is crazy. The jumps aren't huge and it doesn't really flow right, but for some reason I always have fun there. Maybe it's because there is always a good group of people. Maybe it's the number of jumps. Or maybe it's the location... you can see the bay and Catalina island on a clear day. Whatever it is, it's fun. And it is so cool to have a spot like this so close to the heart of LA.

Oh, and make sure you watch it on Vimeo if you want to see it in HD.
